I’M BAAAAAAAACK FROM THE FUTURE.ย
Hello again, everybody! How have ye been faring?
I can’t believe it’s been over two weeks since I last posted! Time flies when you’re having fun ever so slightly swamped in homework.
Anyways, amazing readers, today I’m doing Beautiful Books #2! Most people do this for NaNo, but since I’m not doing NaNo this year, I guess I’ll be doing it. . . not for NaNo. *realizes that sentence is not grammatically correct* *doesn’t change it*
Overall, how is your mental state, and how is your novel going?
Since I’m not doing NaNo, my mental state is quite good, thanks. Although if I was, I suspect that my answer would be quite different. ๐
My novel is going okay . . . I haven’t written much lately, but at least I have it plotted out and I know my characters really well. So I have two things going for me. ๐
Whatโs your first sentence (or paragraph)?
A horse trotted through a sleepy village, its hooves beating the unpaved roads, as small clouds of dust rose up from the dirt.
I know . . . terribly exciting, isn’t it? ๐
Whoโs your current favorite character in your novel?
I’d have to pick Agatha, my MC, or Milly, her cute little sister, as being the most likable. But Master Thomas would have to be my best-written character, I think.
What do you love about your novel so far?
Probably just that it’s my first, and it might be the best piece of writing that I’ve done in the last few years. ๐ย
Have you made any hilarious typos or other mistakes?
Not that I recall . . . possibly, though!ย ย
What is your favorite to write: beginning, middle, or end โ and why?
I like to write the beginning best – I really like describing settings and people, so writing the beginning really appeals to me!ย ย
What are your writing habits? Is there a specific snack you eat? Do you listen to music? What time of day do you write best?
Well, I always write in the evenings, when I’m finished with my homework, so I couldn’t say when my ‘best’ writing time is. As for habits, I try to write for about ten minutes straight, just to see how much I can do. Not that I don’t have those ‘wut r wurdz?’ moments. ๐
How private are you about your novel while youโre writing? Do you need a cheer squad or do you work alone (like, ahem, Batman)?
I’m pretty private . . . I might tell my mom how much I wrote, or something like that, but otherwise I’m not very public about my novel’s progress.ย ย
What keeps you writing even when itโs hard?
ย I mentally picture a large wall, ready to crumble on me if I don’t get at least fifty words written in the next few minutes. Then I just write, even if it doesn’t completely make sense – I can always go back later. ๐
What are your top 3 pieces of writing advice?
Beat the clock. It’s essentially a solitary word war: set a goal for yourself wordcount-wise, and try to complete that goal within a certain amount of minutes. For example, if you want to write two thousand words in an hour, break your total goal into smaller wordcount goals.
Have a baby name website bookmarked.ย It’s incredibly helpful for naming characters, trust me!
Don’t fuss about grammar and spelling. You will have more than enough time to worry about that when you edit; right now all you have to do is get those words on to paper (or the computer screen ๐).
How’s your novel going?ย

Hey Jordan! In case you haven’t noticed, there’s been a huge dare thing circulating in our little blogging community where my friends and I have been daring each other to comment crazy things on each other’s blogs. I also got a request from a friend to dare someone to do something. Sooo . . . I dare you to comment on the very first post of agirllovinglife.wordpress, com and say, “The color spectrum is actually a unicorn in disguise.” Hehe!

DARE ME TO DO SOMETHING BLOGGERISH. YES, BLOGGERISH IS A WORD. MORE DARES. I AM HUNGRY FOR DARES. ๐ Sorry . . . I get a little carried away sometimes when I am deprived of dares. ๐
